Massabon: Meat, fish and pizza
If you are driving up the National Road 14 (SS 14) from Trieste to Venezia, you will see this restaurant (last photo of this tip) just before entering the nice town of Portogruaro. We usually take the A4 motorway from Trieste, but when we came home from Slovenija on 23 August 2008, there was a long traffic jam at the Mestre exit, near Venezia, so my father decided to take the national road (which didn't prevent us from finding a big jam around Venezia).Anyway, the name of this nice restaurant should actually be written in two words and you must pronounce it with the stress on the o: Massa bon. It means "Too good" in the Venetian dialect. They offer pasta, various sorts of meat and fish, as well as pizza (although they didn't made pizzas when we ate there).
