Favorite thing: The town was founded by the Romans but may have had its origins going back as far as the 6th century BC. First mentioned as Rodigo in a document from Ravenna in 838 the town was ruled by the house of Este until it passed to Venice in 1482 and then to Austria in 1797. Rovigo was annexed to Italy in 1866.

Rovigo, nice little town in Veneto
