Canal Grande, Palazzi (Grand Canal/Palazzi), Venice
Favorite thing: bring your camera! Venice is such an unusual city that we could not help taking pictures everywhere. It is a really beautiful place and I would highly recommend at least 2 days to really enjoy it. You can see the major sites in one day and then relax and discover the other delights in the next. We have been there a total of 3 days, though and would go back again.
The Grande Canal is the main waterway through the centre of Venice. This is the place where you can see the most beautiful palazzos on either side of the water.
Hahaha, the poles are not only available in red and white, but also in blue and yellow :-) Must be a Swede that is living here, lol ;-))
I loved seeing those colourful poles in the water. It gives so much atmosphere! Aaaah... I think I love almost everything about this city!
Fondest memory: This is the northeast and northwest section from the Bridge of Tears, a more residential area with more "open" streets and more parking area...
Favorite thing: Here on the Grand Canal you can clearly see on the left side of the pic, one of the many "floating" bus stations. It is the small oblong with the two yellow stipes, floating just past the gondola.
Favorite thing: I loved Venice and all the canals...it was such a different city to anywhere I had ever been before...it is really special and such an amazing place!
Favorite thing: Venice has many canals and numerous bridges to cross these canals. The biggest canal in Venice is the Canal Grande.-
Favorite thing: almost every house has got it´s boat place as well. It´s necessary, no other way to get bigger cargo into the city than by boat.
Fondest memory: The best way to see the most beautiful palaces in Venice is to take a boat, gondola, taxi...and start cruising through the central Venice "street", Canale Grande!
take a ride on the gondola, go up the tower...sorry i forgot the name...
Fondest memory: i loved venice!!! a very fascinating city.....if u go italy...dont miss visiting venice even for ur life.
Fondest memory: The good reason of this short nice trip of just a couple of days: my Canadian friend and guest, Jenny...
Just take you time walking around the town. There are many hidden streets and roads where you can avoid the tourist crowds.
Fondest memory: Walking though the city durng a beautiful blue night and a full moon.
If you are in Italy, you should visit Venice.
It´s a really beautyfull little city. And it doesen´t smells like fish or anything, like some people say.
Just come and make your own statement.
Fondest memory: Sitting on a bench early on a tranquil summer morning watching the Canal Grande
