The restaurant is in Cannareggio area, right across a canal after Campo del Ghetto Nuovo. They have a few tables in front, along the water, a nicely decorated dining room with a glass counter where you can check out appetizers and deserts, and a garden in the back.
The menu have a good selection of pasta and second course, mostly based on seafood, and some traditional dish like Fegato alla Veneziana (beef liver cooked with onions) and sarde in saor (Sardines cooked with onions, winegar and racine).
Favorite Dish: We ordered a mixed salas as appetizer, fried fish and baked potatoes and cuttlefish cooked in its black inch with polenta. The house wine Prosecco (sparkling white wine) was cheap, cool and pretty good.
The portions were a little small but the food was cooked perfectly.
We ordered also a desert, baked peaches with an "amaretto" inside (sour almond cookie) and a grappa.
The total bill was 46 euros for two people in october 2011.

The locals will receive better service and food not available on the menu. The locals were obviously treated quite differently than the visitors. With so many other great choices, please pass this one up! The Pasta Fagioli was none other than pureed re-fried beans from a can with some macaroni thrown on top. It was the worst restaurant experience we had on a 2 week trip of Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice). Venice was our favorite city, sans All Antica Mola!

Favorite Dish: I will never forget the delicious fish I ate here, called Coda di Rospo, which literally means "tail of frog", which I could not understand why! We had loads of fun with our friends, and the waiter was nice enough to give me a strange thorny crab shell for my collection (I collect strange things!)
Update 7/08: Coda di Rospo is monkfish, and can also be translated as Toad's Tail. Thanks to VTer's comment!

Great trattoria in a residential neighborhood. Many of the locals eat here along with some of us savy tourists that don't mind walking 5 or 10 minutes away from the tourist areas for a great meal. Besides, this is Venice so a walk off the beaten path is a pleasure in itself.
Favorite Dish: I don't remember what we ate only that it was excellent, and judging by the yummy sounds coming from all of the other tables everyone else enjoyed it too.

Don't go! Colourless and tasteless food. Never eaten this bad in italy ever.
The anti-pasto Laguna is nothing more than some cheap shrimps, 1 sardine (out of a can) and 1 poor bouilled cold larger shrimp. The gnocchetti with crab was nearly cold and tasted about nothing, certainly not to crab.
Service is more than efficient, guard your plate, it is taken before you can finish eating. Not as a service but to fool many more tourists at one night.

What a good job we had booked. We actually arrived 15 minutes later than planned but the last two places had been kept for us. Situated far from the tourist areas, near the Ghetto Nuovo, there were many locals eating there – always a good sign – but also a good mix of nationalities. We were sat between a French couple and a young German couple on honeymoon. The food was delicious particularly the fish, as might be expected in a City built on and surrounded by water. Prices were reasonable, too.

In Cannaregio district, along the Fondamenta degli Ormesini, this restaurant is a true venitian one.
First of all, it's located far from tourists places, near the Ghetto Nuovo, it's a small trattoria with an inside garden and a terrace outside along the canal, a really nice place to eat during summer.
The service was nice and they understood our italian/french language without problems.
Ambience was calm and local, most of the clients were venetian.
Favorite Dish: The food is typical venitian food with seafoods, we've tried the gnochetti, the rissoto and fried seafoods, all was great and not expensive.
