A NICE LITTLE RESTAURANT TO EAT AT..BUT SO DISAPPOINTED THAT THE NAME DIDN'T SHOW ME THE WAY TO SOME LIVE JAZZ MUSIC.. .THERE WASN'T EVEN ANY JAZZ BEING PLAYED ON THE SOUND SYSTEM WHEN I WAS THERE..
BUT THE FOOD WAS OK.
THE RESTAURANTS IN THE SOUTH PART OFc VENICE SERVED SOME GOOD FOOD..CHECK THEM OUT...ALL THE ONES I TRIED ON GARIBALDI STREET WERE GREAT...

Favorite Dish: ANY OF THE FISH WAS GOOD TO ME.

Baccaro jazz is a small jazz bar/restaurant which is located on the San marco side of the Rialto. It has one of the most fresh and delicious seafood, we ate in Venice.The music isnt live, but recorded. The decoration is very original, with hanged bras!( Our local friends told us that actually are bras they women took off...!)I think they told this as a joke!

Having been to Venice before, a few years younger & a lot less concerned with budgeting, returning to Venice in Nov 02 proved quite a shock when dining anywhere else than Bacaro Jazz! i'd decided to explore first, but dissapointed by what was on offer, tourist-driven restaurants/grubby cafes/naff bars/etc... saying that, I'm not overly convinced that Michael & Alfredo could remember me from all those years past, but just as they had done before, when seeing to a large group of drunken A-level art students, they welcomed me & my party (this time lot smaller and a lot less inebriated) with open arms... i've not eaten anywhere in Venice as near as good, the meals are just the start, alfredo the owner occasionally comes round with complimentary tasters, adding to the whole laidback experience. Michael is ever on standby to serve up the next curious cocktail & the music creates a wonderfull atmosphere - you can lose hours, & once you've seen the sights, what else are you going to do?

Favorite Dish: The Steak with Aubergines is fabulous, cooked to exactly how you wished and full of flavour... I'm afraid i couldn't help myself from ordering it a second time, but from what i've tried of my friends food, the whole menu is delicious!
