    This lovely, warm place has nothing to do with Tuscany....On the contrary, it's Venetian through and through and you can enjoy the best samples of venezians dishes .They have open and closed areas as well .The cellar has more than 500 examples.Try which ever exciting local piscine varieties the helpful (mostly English-speaking) waiters steer you toward: granseola (spider crab), pilgrim scallops, or a risotto made with aged Carnaroli rice like go e bevarase with clams and gobi—an ugly fish Venetians have loved for centuries. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and in the month of july...

    Ristorante Fiaschetteria Toscana: Authentic Venetian Food

    One of the top classic Venetian restaurants, Fiaschetteria Toscana offers a wide selection of local Venetian dishes (not Tuscan, as its name implies), particularly seafood varieties. Expect a typical brightly lit dining room, but great service and delicious cuisine. Like many fine restaurants in Venice, Fiaschetteria Toscana is rather pricey.

    Note: Fiaschetteria Toscana is closed on Tuesdays and for lunch on Mondays.

  • Fiaschetteria Toscana: Great Expectations, but..

    Location: Central, near to Rialto, easy to find. Interieur: clean, bright, classy, good seats, enough place to preseve intimacy. Wines: huge wine card, prices are OK. But: in my case was the bottle of a 9 year old red wine not decanted, the bottom third of the bottle (about 50€) was full of sediment. It was a pity beacause the wine was excellent. Food: a very good selection and variety of starters, first and second courses and desserts as well. BUT: a cold beef carpaccio was sold as a main course for 25€ and was just the same Carpaccio you get as a starter for 10€ in any other place. My main course was of two different temperature, the meat (Tagliata of Angeus Beef) was quite cold, the side dish was very hot. Obviously a failure of coordination.It could have been a coincidence but my wife and my daughter who ate the carpaccio had a very bad night with signs of a gastrointestinal intoxication. Service: very nice, very polite, but somehow too quick. Just as you put your fork away for more then 30 seconds your plate disappears although you may not have finished yet.
    SUMMARY: Maybe we just came on a bad day and my companions may have chosen the wrong dish. Most of our impressions were positive, but in a place with a bill about 250€ for three persons and so many tips in tourist guides and web pages our great expectations weren´t fulfilled.

    Favorite Dish: Tagliolini neri con astice
