Nino's is our home base. Not only do we eat most of our meals there, but we are now even renting an apartment from them! If you go to Nino's more than once, you are no longer just a patron, but a friend. The waiters, Luca & Luciano are delights & will not only help you decide what to eat, but will give you directions and advice about anything in Venice. If it wasn't for this place, Venice would not be the same to us (and we wouldn't be making our 5th trip in a row)! Everything on the menu (with perhps the exception of the steak) is very tasty. The prices are reasonable, especially being so close to St. Mark's Square.
Favorite Dish: I love the liver & onions! My wife likes any of the pasta dishes & we both enjoy the pizza and the fresh grilled veggies. Believe it or not, they have wonderful French fries for the kids.
Trattoria is another name for good food, trust me, I know it very well. When in Italy I am always searching for local trattorias because eating there is something special. The atmosphere is very friendly, not fancy but very comfortable, You'll probably be welcomed by the owner who will suggest you what to eat and what to drink and all you have to do is to follow his advice.
Favorite Dish: Trattoria doesn't mean the food is chep, but it worth the money you pay.
When in Venice, you have to order seafood which is fresh and delicious.
My suggestion is:
- grilled schrimps
- grilled orata
- insala verde mista
- white wine, Tokay di Collio
- Amaretto di Sarrono
and all of this for a price of 35 euros.
Nice, quiet atmosphere near Piazza San Marco. White table cloths and Venetian dishes are the specialty. The service was also very good and the food tasty! A bit pricey but you're not going to find many bargains in Venice.
Favorite Dish: Risotto con gamberi e rucola, Venetian calf liver (fegato alla veneziana), and the grilled baby squid (seppiolie alla griglia con pole)
