We seriously overpaid. Shop around. When we went to take a later ride with my parents, a gondola was not to be found, so don't wait.
Very overpriced from what I remember, but I guess it's a good way to see all the bridges and waterways whilst practising your best operatic singing!
Venezia doesn't belong to this modern world. However, it is nice to see a modern boat in the context of such an old city.
Not as romantic as in the movies as there are about six people per gondola. But still the only way to see Venice.
This is next to The Doges Palace, looking out over the Canal, the light was gorgeous and I hope this photo does it justice.
What would a trip to Venice be without a ride in a gondola? We had a delightful one with a great gondolier. [see travelog]
This looks like a Venetian Traffic Jam! lol! Nah, its just the gondolas all parked up ready to go on their daily journeys.
You've got to take a ride in a Gondola. I can't remember how much it is but you'll see a good part of the city and its relaxing.
Lots of gondola's in Vencie.
I would love to sail across the narrowl canals but the prices are huge!
You will enjoy travelling along the river. It takes around 30 mins and you can try if you wish. For one thing, no over payment.
You can't miss them when you are in Venice, the gondle. Just ask a gondelier for a ride on the river which crosses the whole city
They may be expensive, but sharing can bring the costs down and it is an excellent way to see Venice.
You must take a 'Gondola to travel thru Venecia. Is amazing the way a Gondola driver can drive the little boat in the thin roads.
I would certainly recommend a gondola ride. Buy a bottle of wine in one of the local stores and enjoy it while in the gondola. They don't put you in jail for drinking wine in the gondola.
The Gondolas are all over the place in Venice. They are quite expensive to ride, so ask the 'fare' before you hop on board!
