I came across RivaMancina Bar in June when I went to Verona for a long weekend.
You usually have to drive if you want to visit places outside of the historical center and most places inside the center have high touristic prices. RivaMancina was great - very easy to get to by foot and about a 5 min walk from the historical center. You get to try the typical 'Aperitivo Italiano' with great cocktails (the bartender makes the best mojitos and fresh fruit cocktails) and eat from a wide selection of tapas. The food buffet is huge and you can munch for free with every cocktail you buy, prices are low considering the quantity and service. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who passes by the city and is looking for some local TLC. They even do live music events so you can see some of the local artists and musicians as well.

Nice pub to spend a night together with your friends, listening live music of local rock bands. You can eat and drink in an informal pub.
Dress Code: Aren't observed any special dress requirement, you can dress jeans or something elegant..it's the same!

I have written about this cafe-bar in my restaurant tips as we has a drink and a snack here one lunchtime. I make no excuses for repeating some of the information here !
This bar/cafe can be found at the rear of Castel San Pietro on the north side of the river. San Pietro is on the hill, directly behind the Roman theatre, and it is quite a climb to the top, and you really need a car, or to take a taxi. Judging by the lights, the sound system and the size of the place, I reckon that this was one of Verona's trendy bars at night, and probably hasn't been open long.

We had our VT party at saturday evening in the old citycentre of Verona in Cafe'X'et. It was a perfect place for our party. The bar was built in split-level. We had a small hall for ourselves a few steps down, but in an open connection with the bar at the groundfloor.
Down here we had a buffet with a lot of varied and tasteful snacks and a special drink in big bowls with a lot of straws. It was big fun to enlarge the straws, so we could drink with many at the same time. And we could dance here for many hours, so we did. The most striking was the international performed belly dance in all its variations.
The bar had a terrace at the side walk. Also this place was invaded by VT-ers, to sit at a relaxed place or to cool down after dancing. At the sidewalk we even celebrated a birthday party at midnight.

Myself and Hubby went for my birthday in January...it was brilliant. We went to a bar and the glam that ooooozes out of the italians is real here !! For people watching its fanstastic !! The elderly ladies in thier matching coats and the young ones that are alll very fashionable can teach a few of us a lesson !!! The sights and sounds are fab around the square near the acolloseum but to see how the social culture is,was brillaint. No one seems to go out till very very late...way past my bedtime !!
Dress Code: If you want to fit in (i.e not stand out like tourist like us) wear smart stuff in the evening, we bummed in jeans and coats not quite releasing we did look very scruffy, its fine but we thought it was funny how everyone looked gorgouss and we just looked like wind ravaged tourists !!!

The activity is obvious - tasting a good ,well served Belgian beer - in Italy.
But we were close to our Hotel - we could enjoy a good pint of beer and this cycle would maybe bring us home !!
BTW - the barkeeper and owner of this place
had a good income that day !

This cocktail bar is near Piazza Erbe. It is very modern and spacious, and best of all the music is not too loud. Good cocktails and very efficient service.
Dress Code: smart casual
