Funy scene

When you take the road from Verona to Vicenza you passes through several small places in the outskirts of the town. This interesting and funy scene can be seen on the terrace of the house in the place called Caldeiro. Not so bad idea placing an old airplane on the terrace.

Verona's Football Stadium

The football stadium in Verona is the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi. It was built in 1963 and has a seating capacity of 45,000.

It is home to the teams Chievo Verona in Serie A and Hellas Verona in serie B.

The stadium was used in the 1990s World Cup where Round 1 and Round 2 matches of the cup were held.

I only visited the outside of the stadium on my last morning in Verona. It seems to be a very impressive building, wouldn't have minded seeing a match here, but unfortunately, once again, it just wasn't the right time.

If you haven't already realised it as you arrive by plane or by maybe train from the north, climbing Torre dei Lamberti or even the height of the Arena will quickly make you realise how close the Alps are to the city (you might need to click on this pic to see it). This means that there are plenty of opportunities for hiking and cycling in the mountains.

I haven't made a separate tip for this so: if you are a windsurfer instead, you could visit nearby Lake Garda which is great for it.

Equipment: The tourist offices in the region will be able to tell you where to find cycle rental and other gear you might need.

Hellas Verona is the soccer (futbol) club in Verona and has been around for over 100 years. Going to a soccer game in Italy is a great experience.

Tickets are generally pretty easy to get, usually you can walk right up and purchase them before a game.
