Here's another case of a museum we might not have thought about visiting if it hadn't been included in the Verona Card. The Museo Lapidario Maffeiano (or Maffei's Stone Museum) is one of Europe's oldest public museums. Dating back to 1745, it houses an impressive collection of Greek, Arab, Etruscan, Roman and early Venetian epigraphs and other types of engravings. Many of the carved stones are of important historical and artistic significance, and they are very well preserved despite being several centuries old. Whenever it was possible to do so, the different epigraphs have been translated and information is available in Italian and English. It's definitely worth stopping by!

The museum owns a rich collection of ancient relics. It was founded in the 18th century by Scipione Maffei, a scholar from Verona, and is one of the world oldest public museums.

In the open gallery, there is an exhibition of statues, bas-reliefs, stone slabs, and things like that.
