Getting to Verona from the various choices

There are numerous airports flying to the region near Verona:

Verona Airport - The most convenient and from when I was there last the flight options have greatly improved. From the airport there is a bus every 30 minutes which will take you to the train station in verona for about 5€. Taxis can be 20-30 euros so it depends how many of you are travelling. www.aeroportoverona.it

Brescia - I flew this route a lot with Ryanair. www.aeroportobrescia.it There is a bus costing about 11 euros to the train station, takes about 50 mins.

Milan (Linate) you can get to milan train station pretty easily by bus or taxi, and then a direct train on to Verona

There is also Milan Malpensa (far out of milan but doable) Venice and Bergamo which I used to do a lot and is slightly more complicated but also achievable

VBS Verona Brescia is where the budget airlines including Ryaniar will fly you to. Transfer shuttles to/ from the airport to Verona Central station at Piazza Porta Nuova are coincident with the Ryanir flights.

A single was Eu11 and a return Eu16.

You will see the yellow taxi sign and coach on the Left Hand Side of the picture. Click on others to see from the main entrance/exit , and how to find the ticket office/ biglietteria inside the airport

This is "Verona Brescia" VBS where Ryanair flights go to along with the other budget airlines.

Ryanair's flights coincide with the shuttle service to/from the airport and Verona train station in the city centre Piazza Porta Nuovo. A single is Eu11 and a return Eu16.

On the main picture, notice the coach to the Left Hand Side, and the yellow taxi sign.

The airport is located in Villafranca; around 15 km. far from Verona.

To get there from the town (and vice versa) there is a bus named "Aerobus" leaving from 6.10 a.m. 11.10 p.m.

This bus starts from outside the main train station; Verona Porta Nuova.

On my way to Italy

My second trip to the Veneto area in northern Italy. No, unfortunally not by this aeroplane, but anyhow - my trip started in BXL - Zaventem aeroport - an important key of traveling throughout many cities in Europe by so called " low budget travel" like Virgin Express or Ryanair.
My pleasure to discover this part of the world, by them.

Th map of Verona and its surroundings

You can reach Verona by airplane, the international airport Valerio Catullo is situated in Villafranca, which is approx. 15 km far from the town of Verona.
Other recommandable options are:
Train - usually the Italian trains are comfortable and trusful. Do not expect any strike in the high season. I strongly suggest this option.
Car - the city of Verona lies on A-4 "Serenissima" highway. In a short time you can get it from Milano or Venezia.

Verona has its own airport just outside the city, but many of its visitors will arrive at Ryanair's "Verona" airport, a good hour and a half's drive away from the city. In fact that airport is nearer Brescia than Verona, but there are regular Ryanair buses connecting the city with the airport, so you won't have any problems getting there and back. Ryanair is also extremely cheap with webfare tickets available for as little as one British pound (plus tax). There are also budget flights to the main Verona airport from other parts of Europe, such as those offered by German Wings.

What's Happened to the Wings?

My first ever flight was to Verona Airport so I wasn't too sure what actually happened with the flight. My first worry was when I saw water running down the side of the window, it turned out that it was only condensation.
My second worry was on landing, half of the wing appeared to drop off, well I wasn't to know that it was just the flaps going up for landing was I.
