Favorite thing: The rose window of the basilica set in a totally different architectural style to the baroque style of the rest of the church.

Gods in the garden

Favorite thing: The spacious gardens are also a feature of the Villa Valmarana and, at one end of the garden is this fine god-like statue facing the villa.

The splendour of it all

Favorite thing: Yet another duomo, yet another fabulous altar piece. Gilded figures surrounded by Corinthian columns and all the usual grandeur.
The surprise is, this wasn't even the main one!

Arco Delle Scalette - Vicenza

Favorite thing: This is a beautiful archway and long set of stairs leading up to Mt. Berico. Palladio designed the archway, and there are about 180 steps to climb on the way up, whew!!
