Bouley Bay (I)

by steventilly

Bouley bay is one of our favourite spots. There's a small Island just a few yards off shore. We go and sit on there and while the day away watching people pass by in boats or go off on their Scuba Diving courses. Sometimes a cruise ship or a ferry pass fairly close by.

St. Helier (IV)

This is taken inside the indoor market. The market is largely given over to flowers, which form an important part fo the Jersey economy. You can get a huge range of flowers here and they can be deleivered to most parts of the world.

St. Helier (III)

This is one of the banks in St Helier. Most of the banks are in pretty impressive buildings, money being a very important part of Jersey life, due to it's status as a tax haven and offshore banking centre.

St. Helier (I)

St Helier is the capital and the largest town on Jersey. The bulk of the Hotels, shops and restaurants are here. The main shopping street is King Street and there are some pretty good shops. Remember, there are a lot of millionaires living on Jersey and they want somewhere nice to do their shopping, without constantly popping over to Harrods! There's every type of cuisine to be found in the town. We like Shezans (indian) and Pizza Express (pizza), as well as the Thai restaurant on the Weybridge.A popular spot on the edge of town is the "Howard Davies Park" which is a fairly large park with band concerts every evening (not pop, not classical).

St. Brelade (II) (Ouasnie)

by steventilly

This is the crowded beach I mentioned earlier! Actually, this is Ouasnie which is the adjoining part of St Brelade and it's much, much quieter because there are no hotels at the back of the beach. There's a cafe and a really good pub, though, "The Old Smugglers Inn".You can see the hotels of St Brelade in the background of this picture.

St. Brelade (I)

St Brelade is one of the bigger and most popular bays around Jersey - it is certainly the most crowded. Did I say crowded? Well, by Jersey standards it is. By Mediterranen standards it's deserted! There are some hotels and cafes along the back of the beach. This is the Bouilly Port area of the bay, the small harbour.

St. Aubins (I)

by steventilly

St Aubins is a very pretty spot just around The Bay of St Aubins from the capital St Helier. It's maybe 2 or 3 miles and there's a promenade along the whole route. If you walk it there are a couple of cafes on the way, one of our favorite being the "Old Waiting Room", so named as that's what it used to be when the railway ran along this route.

Rozel (II)

by steventilly

This is "La Tour Rozel", an old fort now converted into a house. It stands on the cliff above Rozel bay. It's well worth a walk up here from Rozel and you can get out onto a rocky outcrop that juts out into the ocean - but watch you don't get cut off!

Rozel (I)

by steventilly

Rozel is a very pretty little bay with a small harbour. It's at the bottom of a narrow, winding road, and parking can be hard to find at busy times. There are some good places to eat and you can just sit and watch the little boats go by.

Plemont (II)

by steventilly

There are some small caves at the back of the beach and some rock formations to sit on or in the shade of.The sea here is a bit more wild than some other parts of Jersey, so it's not the best place for swimming. It's great for paddling though. There's a small tea room just off the beach.
