If You want to go to enjoy nightlife in Aluksne, than You can go to the nightclub "Ideja". Nightclub have 2 floors - on the first floor there is a dance hall, on the second floor there is a bar and tables where You can sit and chat with friends and from the second floor You can also watch the dance floor...
Better to go to this club is when they have some live music events - when there perform bands from Latvia...
Entrance to the club is about 2 LVL or 3 LVL (depends on what kind of performers will be in the club) - it is about 3 EUR or 4 EUR ( but in entrance You need to pay in LVL - latvian lats).
Coctails at the bar costs average 2 LVL or 3 LVL - depends what You order...

This is a very nice shop in Aluksne where You can find different kind of crafts, also bijouterie, pottery, candles, nice and interesting gifts etc.

What to buy: Different kind of goods which is hand made from natural linen (flax) like bags, tablecloth, scarfs, apron etc.

What to pay: It depends what You are going to buy.

Leaving Aluksne and driving north-east will take you to the nature park of Gaujiena, and its palace and estate dating from the 19th century. The park also contains a museum dedicated to the memory of composer J. Vitols, as well as a memorial to the poet O. Vacietis and the ruins of the Gaujiena castle.

Take a ride in a horse-drawn carraige (for information. Tel. 43-57340/57182) to Zvartava Castle, with its adjoining park and abbey set on the shores of the splendid Lake Zvartava. Zvartava Manor Complex developed in time about the end of the 18th till the beginning of the 19th century. Manor's history is closely connected with the von Cekells' and Verzens'. Manor-house was built in Tudor Neo-gothic style about 1881. There is partly preserved original interior decorative finish. From the original 18th century manor complex there preserved classicism style household buildings that were rebuilt and modernised in Neo-gothical shapes. Eldest househol part of the complex includes stables and gardener's house. In its origins there was reguraly planned garden at the manor-house, but later at the end of the 19th century 9.7 ha wide landscape park took place.

Now the manor is administrated by the Society of Latvian Artists. Different displays, shows, symposias take place in the manor-house and park
