Attend wild bogs, peaceful forests, scenic lakes

by LanaFromRiga

All this you will find in Kemeri National Park. General information about this Park you will find here: http://www.kemeri.gov.lv/ENGsakums.htmI go there by train from Riga till Kemeri station. Inside the Kemeri station buildin is the point of bicycles rental. If you are the group of people you can book bicycles by phone: 00371 29 23 92 7 It is the owner Janis - he will give the map of National Park, advices what tracks will choose.

Sunny Beach Juramal

Just one tourist area and the rest is - as the rough guide puts it - "wonderfully underdeveloped"; and that is really true. The 20-ies housing is interesting to see; a lot of disappeared treasures: Riga itself was not as interesting as expected. But I did not yet check the night life which is said to be interesting. Now I only was there on a Sunday; which was a quiet day with just two busses of tourists. The rest of the time I spent on Jurmala beach, which is really nice; just 45 minutes by train from central Riga.. and the train costs less than 1 euro. Best is to rent a bike here as well (I tried to get to Riga on bike, but ended up on the motorway and thought that that would not be a good idea... ) The nice thing about that is that you can ride your bike on the 30km of beach without any problem. So one day I just spend riding a bike for an hour, then just sit down for an hour drink or...

This place is amazing for persons who like to walk a lot: here is possible to walk in the pine forest, walk along the beach. This place is out of tourist trails that's why you will not see many and many people - great place for peaceful relax.Sorry, I can't give you links, because theren't information about this trail in Internet. I advice you to check the map of Jurmala (below) and to choose the destination"Ragakapas dabas liegums".

Riga

You can easily come for a day from Riga to Jurmala by train or car. Trains leave every 10 - 20 minutes from the central station`s on platforms 3 and 4, from 05.00 to 23.00. If you go by car, you have to stop at the control post near the Lielupe river to pay a toll.

Enjoy the nature on the Baltic shore

The beach of course... this lovely seaside is really the MOST, as you can find pine forest so close to beach... This way you have all the natural elements that you need just to rebalance from the stress and agitation of the modern life.

The wooden houses

There are so many enormous nice woodenhouses in different styles/colours/sizes....some of them are repaired again, but some are in a lousy condition during 50 years of USSR time....
