A rucksack or a light travelling bag for you to walk around in Latvia. The rucksack or bag will become handy when you do your minor shopping especially for mineral water, postcards and small souvenirs.
Summer in Latvia can be quite warm. Therefore light clothing may be necessary. Nevertheless bring along a light jacket as the evening and night can be quite cold. It is absolutely necessary to bring along thick winter jackets if you visit Latvia during the cold winter months.
Remember to bring along your medicines if you are on medication. Other medical supplies that may become necessary are painkillers such as Aspirin, plasters for minor cuts, small scissors, nail-creeper etc. Remember not to place any sharp objects in your cabin luggage, otherwise they may be confiscated at the airport even before you begin your travel.
God bless you if you forget to bring along your digital camera, camcorder and the accessories such as battery charger and memory cards.
Bring along your swim wear if you decide to swim in Latvia especially in hotel's swimming pool. There are public beaches at the coast as Latvia has long coastal areas. Umbrellas may be necessary during certain months especially in spring and autumn when it rains more often.
Miscellaneous items may include a map of Latvia and its cities and a guide book, mobile phone and its battery charger, mp3 player, iPod etc. Leave a Comment

Riga's financial district by DanielF The Latvian currency is the Lat (plural Lati). Pay attention because the rate of the Euro is significantly lower than the lat, so you tend to think things are cheaper than they really are (well, at least that happened to me, but I have not a very mathematical mind). You do not need to carry any cash with you, for you can withdraw money from any ATM machine which are all around Riga. When going to countries with a different currency you realise how practical it is to be able to travel all around the Euro-zone without worrying about such mundane things! Leave a Comment
