The Harbour of Riga

by LanaFromRiga

It's the place where the main river of Latvia Daugava in outfalls in the Riga's Gulf. The place is callen "Mangalsala". There are teo breakwaters in this place: one in the left bank of Daugava - Bolderaja and the second in the right bank - Mangalsala. Many people go there to see sunsent, to have a good time, to see ships are going in or out the harbour. It's one of my favourite places in Riga.

The Dome Cathedral

by Fen

Yes you can see the Dome Cathedral right at the back of this pic. I know I will have to scan a better pic in. Perhaps this is more up your street..? haha Walking through this lovely street with all its colours and spectacular architecture on the way to the Cathedral. This Cathedral which you can see slightly in the background of this picture is the largest cathedral in the Baltics with an area of 3000 square meters.

Lenin?

by AndyRG

This statue stands near the centre of the city, which celebrated its 800 years in 2001. It looks like soviet influence still exists, doesn't it? It is the statue of the Latvian red riflemen. Despite over half a century of this soviet rule, Latvia never lost its identity, the independence was recognised on 6 September 1991.
