The LNO Opera Company is a permanent group of artists whose fame and reputation is growing throughout the world due to the bright voices of the soloists and smooth timbre of the chorus. English pub in Riga.
When I went into this pub, it was like going to my local. Even the pictures on the wall where from places around England. It really felt like someone had picked up this pub and put it down in Riga. Leave a Comment

Frequented by day by the diplomats and embassy staff who also work in the Jacob’s Barracks, this restaurant provides a warm, intimate setting a few steep steps down from the old city wall. Named after the national drink of Latvia, Balzams offers far more than just potent elixirs. The atmosphere is convivial in the evenings, with well-heeled locals having a good time with cocktails made from the bitter black herbal liquor which is actually better than it sounds when mixed with something else. They prefer it with black currant juice which is what I had.
It was a really nice warming drink with a fruity punch taste. It certainly warmed me up again for going back out in the cold streets.

It is A MUST for house/r-n-b lovers.
There are different parties with special themes, fashion shows by famous designers and brands going on at Nautilus every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
The place is great for dancing and people watching becuase people are amazing. The creams of Riga trendy young people tend to come here to chill out.

Small great place for those who like downtempo, electronica music. Two floors with more dance music on the first and chill out on the second. Fancy design, nice people.
"Pupi" in Latvian means breasts, and you will deginitely see them everywhere: on the wall paper and live - sexy waitresses show off their cleavage :) Opening the menu turns out to be a good practise in how to open a bra!
Don't leave without trying the special house coctan Better than Sex or Screaming Orgazm...

Bar in somewhat industrial style that turns into a dance bar on Fridays and Saturdays. Live music performances and good DJs tend to attract trendy young people. Bar in the basement is in the chill out mood, both from design and music perspective.

Nice bar on the top floor of hotel Latvia. You can go up with the elevator from glass and see panorama of Riga. Then you can sit in the bar by the big window and look at Riga from the 26th floor. I recommend this place.

New club in Riga Old Town. Get a drink or snack and try to get a place IN the window. Literally. A couple of tables are placed in the window facing one of the busiest streets in the Old Town. Combine people watching exercise with good live music performances in the evenings. It's difficult to get a spot there after 8 almost any day. Chill out dance floor is downstairs. In general, atmosphere is great as well as the music. The food and drinks could have been better.

My mates and I have the habit of taking a tram/bus/train to suburban areas when visiting some cities. That's my way of "extreme" travelling. No tourists, cheap prices, and you NEVER know what to get. This time we found a few friendly bars, however, no one spoke any English, but it was still a great experience.

"Three in one" - dance bar, restaurant and a chill-out place housed in a single building offering a complete "package" for hanging out in central Riga.
The bar on the ground level turns into a dance floor when it feels like dancing, but especially when it comes closer to the weekend. Very popular place among trendy clubbers for people watching...
