There are different parties with special themes, fashion shows by famous designers and brands going on at Nautilus every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. The place is great for dancing and people watching becuase people are amazing. The creams of Riga trendy young people tend to come here to chill out. Dress as nicely as you can to enjoy the show off process at Nautilus.
Bar in somewhat industrial style that turns into a dance bar on Fridays and Saturdays. Live music performances and good DJs tend to attract trendy young people. Bar in the basement is in the chill out mood, both from design and music perspective. Dress nicely.
This unique wooden hut on a park is definitely a place too visit. Very relaxing, it has an internal balcony (see photo) with sofas on which invariably smooching couples can be found. They are distributors of tea in Riga, so they have very many types. Very cozy. Perhaps a little expensive, but you can counter that by ordering only one tea and making it last. Black tea with Balzams was very nice, along with a slice of cake.
Very much Trendhaus par excellence where obviously many people go to be seen. Even people that don't need it. Famous journalist Dace Rukzane was there when I visited, her audacious articles on sexual relations already have her on a high profile. Music is high class, housey funktech. Beer is Kimmel, not my favourite. second floor is a restaurant. third floor, a gallery I think. If you like the music, it's actually nice for a drink or two. Up-to-date and up-to-scratch, but actually they're not fussy. Not really a nightclub, so no updressing is advisable (though, if you are an "up-dresser" then you don't take advice).
As the Lonely Planet on the Baltic countries rightly says, when in doubt, head for the Irish pub. There is one in every single town that has a half decent nightlife. Riga is no exception. The best known is Paddy Whelan's.You will find there the ubiquitous Guinness but also a large array of local beers that you should not hesitate to sample. If you're feeling hungry, you can also have something to eat at normal pub prices.If you want to meet people, Paddy Whelan's is also a good place to be as you will find there foreigners and locals alike. The standard Irish pub dress code: none.
Dickens was great - their barman Sergei used to live in Limerick and had picked up some of the accent and idioms from his stay there :)Twas here where we got chatted up by Geordie sailors and Norwegian civil servants ! Casual
Riga's nightlife back in 1992 mostly was made up of 'bars' consisting of a kiosk with banks arranged around it. Choice of drinks was usually nonexistent, with only one kind of (excellent!) bottled beer on sale. Empty bottles were immediately collected by old women.
There are some famous places of night bars in Riga.The most I like is VERNISAGE. You can listen here night concert of famous singer or group,take a seat in very intime like cabines or simply dancing. If You like some kind of jazz or like listen to piano- there is the restorant in the same building.

Oh....Nightlife in Riga. The best part of all. After taking a good shower and having the dinner, you should go to 'Dickens' first, it's and English pub ('Anglu krogs' as Latvians say) If you get in alone don't think that you are going to leave the place alone :). Anyway after that you can go to 'Pulkvadis' (or 'pulkvedim')If you like alternative music this place is just for you on friday nights. If you like to listen some jazz there is a place so close to the 'Dickens pub' but I forget the name of the place, so you better ask or refer to your ' riga in my pocket' or 'Riga this week' ( R.T.W is recommended it's for free and you can find the very neccecary things in it). Maybe you like to see some Latvians dancing with Latvian pop music, than you better go to 'cita opera' which is close to the 'Latvian University' Dickens...Dickens...Dickens... Good music, good service, polite and funny...
