Turaida bus stop

  • We sat for awhile at what we thought was a bus shelter across from Turaida, it looked like one and had a schedule posted on the wall. A kind local woman that didn't speak much English alerted us that we would never get a bus there, make sure you are standing near the sign with a picture of a bus located a short distance from the shelter.

  • I made the mistake of thinking it might be Ok to use one of these that I found along the path, trust me when I tell you not to go in if you have a weak stomach or have recently had lunch.

    Visit the woods or hold it until you get to Turaida where there is a lovely pay toilet (don't forget your receipt!) to take care of nature's call.

  • We tryed not much eating places in Sigulda, but one of them was bad: avoid soviet-time dinner places looking not clean and very cheap. We discovered one in Turaida near parking lot. Donīt remember the name but the pace was on second floor; prices where very cheap, but after we discovered flourworms we left this place very quickly...
    But summer cafes at open air were very good and with reasonable prices. Cheaper than in Estonia :)
