Airsoft

Airsoft is a team sport and a military simulation game. It uses replica firearms to shoot small plastic pellets. Airsoft offers great entertainment and has been recognized around the world as a unifying team or group sport. It is also an exciting adventure, marvellous way of recreation and a hobby, too. There is many abandoned post soviet military bases in Latvia, which are perfect places for Airsoft games. Airsoft is a game where everyone can participate. You don`t need special trainig or skills to play. Game masters will explain you all necessary rules. Durations of one game is approximately 4 hours. It is possible to bring your own equipment, but if you don`t have it then you can rent it from game masters (weapon, uniform, protective mask or goggles, gloves), but is better to have at least you own boots with high sole.

The first snow in Latvia arrives in November, but the real skiing season begins only around Christmas time and lasts till the end of March. The average temperature in winter is -2C with January being the coldest month. The heaviest snowfall in Latvia occurs in north-eastern part – and that’s where the most popular ski hills are located. These hills have well groomed ski runs of varying difficulty, tows, night lighting and snow-making equipment. To fish in public waters in Latvia one must obtain a fishing permit and, in some cases, a license as well. Children under the age 16, pensioners over age of 65 and individuals with special needs do not need a permit to fish. WINTERBERG, Jan. 26 (LETA) - The four man Latvian (Latvia-I) bob, driven by Sandis Prusis, took home the gold medal in the sixth round of FIBT World Cup bobsleigh in Winterberg, Germany. The Winterberg competition was also the European Championship. The Latvians (Prusis/Marcis Rullis/Janis Silarajs/Janis Ozols) total time after the second run today was 1 minute 50.67 seconds, putting them 0.06 seconds ahead of the second-place finishers, Germany-1, driven by Andre Lange. Prusis was in third place following the first run earlier today with a time of 55.61 seconds. His second run was clocked at 55.06 seconds. This was Prusis' second victory in FIBT World Cup action this year, and he was ranked second in the overall standings behind Lange. With today's triumph, Prusis also takes home the honor of being this year's European champion.
