Bus from Berlin to Riga without stops

by diamond7

You can get a bus just from Berlin directly to Riga the capital the Latvia. This bus cross the Poland and Lithuania anyway doesn’t stop in these two countries. So, you can depart from Berlin (central bus station) at 19:10 h. at each Saturday arriving in Riga at 17:10 h. on Sunday. There is this bus only once a week, at the Saturdays, and the back journey is at the Wednesday of each week. The price is about € 80.I didn’t make the journey but I have seen the bus and I have found it modern and comfortable.

If you have the opportunity to drive to and around Latvia, it would probably be the best alternative. That way you can be free to go anywhere you want...the traffic is mean but trust me, you'll get used to it. Even I who's only had a license for one year drove around down there....For shorter distances around Latvia, the trains are convenient. Not too many stations maybe but it is very cheap and especially in Riga it could be a good alternative.....

Well it depends on the country where you live. The easiest way of course is by airplane. If you live in nordic countries you can swim on a parom(every 2 days from Stochgolm to Ventspils, it is not far away from Riga). From Eastern Europe the best way to gethere is by car. You can rent a car (Eurocar's office is in the Airport)and in a couple days time you can see everything you wanted to see in Latvia. Trains are also available - they can get you to any place in Latvia.

The cheabest way to get to Riga and Latvia from Finland is by bus. First by ferry to Tallinn and then by bus to Riga. this all takes like 9 hours, but I think it's worth it. You can for example make new friends while sitting in the bus. I'm not sure, in the downtown I think bus is the easies. But if you want to get away from the downtown train might be good.

having your own vehicle is a good deal in latviaroad condion in latvia can be very tricky! this sign is supposed to warn you when an umpaved section begins.... we found it only once, and in the useless direction: from unpaved to newly paved. So take care when you're driving out of the main routes because you're road can become unpaved just in the middle of a turn

Plane to Riga. Bus or rent car from Estonia or Lithuania (major car rentals operate in all three Baltic states, so you can take a car in one country and leave it in another). Train from east (Russia) or from south (Europe, through Lithuania)Railway is on desperate lack of investments nowadays, so bus or car is a major mean of transportation to get around.
