This tower is everything what’s left from Livonian Knights Order castle built most likely in 14th century. It is located in the centre of town. Now in the tower is a town museum. It is very nice small museum, but I am not sure if the ticket seller/guide speaks English (or Russian). If not there won’t be much you will understand there. The best thing there was the small installation of central town square in different times: during Russian Empire in the begining of 20th century, during time of Latvian independence between both World Wars and during first years of Soviet Occupation in the middle of 20th century.

Tukums – a typical Latvian town

Tukums is not a touristic town and/or of big historic importance like Sigulda, Cesis or Kuldiga, but it is a good place if you want to see a typical Latvian town.
