The current monarch of Liechtenstein, His Serene Highness Prince Hans-Adam II, came to the throne in 1989. Unlike the twelve previous rulers of Liechtenstein, he grew up in the country, attending the local primary school. Under Prince Hans-Adam, Liechtenstein has joined the United Nations and developed closer ties with the European Union. The royal family lives in the castle that hangs precipitously above the capital.
Liechenstein has long relied on using the Swiss Franc as it's currency. It is a while since I have visited but as I remember the Euro is easily accepted as well.

This is one stamp you dont mind having in your passport. Pick it up at the post office at the border in Vaduz.
All swiss regulations are valid also here. The currency is swiss frank. Swiss police officers are controlling your papers when you enter. (Only if you come from austuria or germany)
