Burg Brasserie: Great "sandwiches"

by Turska

This was maybe one of the best snack-foods on the way!The bread was good, the chicken inside was good, it had sundried tomatos and good curry-mayonnaise.Yummy! The chicken sandwich. They had good looking menu, but it was in the middle of the day, so we weren´t in the mood for "real" lunch.

Mc Donald's: Burgers in Triesen

by Pieter11

In Triesen, just south from Vaduz, you can eat at the only (as far as I know) Mc Donald's Restaurant in the whole of Liechtenstein. Of course the food is just the same as everywhere else in the world, and so is the interior- and exterior design of the building. But the food is cheap as always (compared to other places to eat in the country) with prices of about 7 CF per meal (€ 5,-) and the view is spectacular. From the terrace outside you have a great view of the mountains to the east.

COOP Supermarket: Picnicking

by Pieter11

Eating out in Liechtenstein is not cheap. Like everything, food is pretty expensive in the country. A good alternative for this is to go picnicking in the beautiful mountains. There are plenty of great spots to sit down, enjoy the great views and have a good meal, and they are easily to reach by car or public transportation. When you decide to go picnicking, the COOP Supermarket in central Vaduz is a good place to do your shopping. It is not a big supermarket, but you can even buy plastic plates, knives and cups: easy when you go for a picnic.Another good thing about the COOP is that it is opened on Sundays. So every day in the week you can go here. You can find the supermarket along the main road through Vaduz. From the central bus station and the Kunstmuseum, just follow the road towards Schaan for about 100 metres. There it is at the left side of road. For a nice -and quasi-exclusive-...

Try the Turkish LAHMACUN

by Helenbb

There is a Turkish snack bar there , which offered traditional Turkish food . Among them , one was strongly recommended by our guide , called LAHMACUN ( actually i forgot the name , and got this name from one of my friends here )It looks like a big burger , i mean BIG ... bigger than McDonald's hamburgers....with meat , vegetables and traditional Turkish sauce inside. I shared with one of my friends. but still can not eat it out :))Cost is EURO or CHF9 . They also offer Turkish pizza and soft drinks

The cuisine of Liechtenstein

by keeweechic

The cuisine of Liechtenstein is not surprisingly Swiss with Austrian overtones. There are restaurants and cafes in Vaduz which also cater for other tastes. Local specialties include Käsknöpfle, small dumplings with cheese. Liechtenstein is also a producer of wine, particularly red. The Prince has his own wine producing estates..

Wirthschaft zum Lowen: Wirthschaft zum Lowen

by James63

The Wirthschaft zum Lowen restaurant is a pretty little farm house literally five feet from the Austrian border - which is sometimes patrolled, believe it or not, so bring your passport. Off in the distance you can see the Austrian town of Feldkirch. This restaurant gives the most authentic 'home' feel of any in the principality. Portions are large, the food is excellent, and the place is usually filled to the brim with the natives. Kaseknopfl, a cheese dumpling topped with onions that is served as a main dish. This dish is apparently native to Liechtenstein.
