Official Currency: Swiss Franc

by HORSCHECK

Like Switzerland, Liechtenstein doesn't belong to the European Union, but to the EFTA (European Free Trade Association). It also doesn't have the Euro as official currency, even though it is widely accepted. The official currency in Liechtenstein is the Swiss Franc (CHF). You can get your money from many cash points or exchange offices. As you will probably arrive to Liechtenstein from Switzerland make sure that you have already enough Swiss Francs on hand.

To tip or not to tip?

by morgenhund

I was unsure when in Vaduz whether or not one should tip or not - although in most cafés I went to service was included in the price, thus meaning that tipping was not necessary - indeed in one restaurant they looked at me strangely when I rounded the bill up (an Austrian practice). Mind you with the prices already being so high, you'd probably be well excused not to offer a tip.
