    Puntukas stone

by Raimix Updated Jan 16, 2014

Puntukas stone is located about 6 kilometers from Anyksciai. It is better to go there by car. It is second biggest stone now in Lithuania, and it was the biggest till 1957. Puntukas weights around 265 tons. Actually some of weight it lost, as it is as monument now for S. Darius and S. Girenas. They were pilots during interwar times, and flew from USA to Lithuania, but lost their lives in former Germany (now territory of Poland).

We drove to Bijeikiai to see very popular panorama tower. It is 15 meters high and from the top you can see great landscape of Rubikiai and Dusinai lakes. Rubikiai lake is very popular for locals of Anyksciai region, as it is recreational place. Observation tower is quite popular for new married couples for photo sessions.

Bijeikiai is about 15 kilometers from Anyksciai.
