There were no parking lots along highway 134 from Kalvarija to Lazdijai. But I can't complain. There was no traffic and I could always park a car partly on a shoulder.
Generally there were no parking lots, accommodations, restaurants or any other turist facilities along secondary highways in Lithuania. Add relatively few (but enough) gas/petrol stations of which many (most?) were closed at night, on Sunday and on public holidays.
It worked better along main highways but it varied from place to place.

My recommendation is to bring some Euros (in smaller notes, up to 50 ?) whenever you go to Lihuania.
Why?
Surely you can pay by your credit/debit cards but not at all places (even in the capital Vilnius) and definetely not at off the beaten path destinations I was lucky to visit.
Surely you can get money from ATMs but there were none in smaller towns/villages or I didn't find any. Additionally you will be charged for each transaction.
Finally, I always feel more safe when I have some cash (instead of only debit/credit cards) about me.
Why Euro?
Look at the differences in buy and sell courses for various currencies on my picture. The smaller one is for Euro which is currency of 13 European countries (in 2004, soon in Lithuania).
Polish currency was acceptable in exchange offices located close to the Polish border and in a few places in Vilnius.
Why in smaller notes?
I found (well, only once) a little bit worse course for notes 100 ? and ban on larger notes (are there any ? :-) of Euros in one exchange office. And with smaller notes you can be more flexible if you don't know how much money to exchange into litas.
