Kaunas Nightlife

It's a great place for young people, with awsome litghting effects and estonishing music. They have there go go dancers, beutiful girls, i mean chicks. I just wanted to say it has what it takes:)

I was shown of that place by my friends during the Kaunas jazz festival, we went there to have some drinks and listen to live played jazz music.
I liked the atmosphere there.. It's not like in all other Kaunas places where you can definitely smell "Kaunas" - full of people trying to show off and so on.
I would say that "Orleanas" bar is for those people, who have their souls free and open for a change, new ideas, new attitude, new friends..

Dress Code: Feel free to dress what you like and take your Harley Davidson too.. well, you can leave it in front of the door:)

They claim to be the only restaurant/dance club on the water in the Baltic region. They have evening shows with concerts, artist performances, music parties.
Also some programme for kids at daytime.
Or you can just come for a dinner on the water and see the sunset over the Nemunas river..

There are at least 4 dance clubs in the center of Kaunas so if you're staying in the center you won't need a taxi. Usually these clubs close at 2-4am so if you are going to party all night, you will have to find some locals who are doing that in their homes.

I can't recommend a night-spot, not being a party animal, but this is probably the place to discuss drinking! When I first visited Lithuania in 1994, the beer was foul. Now things are improving, and you will find several local brands advertised. Utenos and Kalnapils are the most popular and probably the best. As always, vodka, champagne and other forms of 'spiritus' are also readily available; and if you're looking for a proper thank you (aciu) gift to a family, a bottle of liquor or liquer is usually appropriate. Unfortunately, alcoholism is a major problem in Lithuania, but perhaps understandable given the continuing hardships many people face.

Cinemas- there're five main working. My favorite is 'Planeta' (Planet)has dolby surround sound, cafe while waiting. 'Senasis Trestas' cinema that has also night sceanses, movies at night.

My favourite club, thus, I prefer cafes or less noisy athmosphere, where you can dance, on the whole my active dance season is in summer, when I'm at the seaside, but this club -Los Patrankos(picture), I liked.
Los Patrankos- interesting design. They also organize diffrent kind of programs, evenings, according to the music styles, age, etc.

Ice Skating Arena, music, fun, skating, don't have skates? Rent! and welcome! the 'séance' of skating is 1.5 hour. Starting times are different, please check the schedule, usually Mon, Wed, Fri at 7 or 9 pm. Tue, Thru - 8 and 10pm, Weekends different times. Closed in summer
season.

Dress Code: Be ready to fall, be ready to have a good time, dress up warmer but not too warm, a sweater and pants will do, as you're moving! Casual style. Public is quite young, but you can come across to ppl of different ages.

The most modern club in Lithuania is also here: Los Patrankos. Great interior, design, music, etc. They offer very wide variety of entertainment, shows, themed evenings, check their programmers, or ask the local to help you to check. unfortunately, no English version of the site yet.
On the first floor dance-floor, can fit about 1500 ppl and a beer bar. Second floor restaurant-balcony, you can watch dance floor. Also whisky bar , music won't bother you here. Basement - pool (4 tables) and bar. Themed evening, student nights, Latin dance evening, weekends live music. etc.
