There are many different shops in Laisves Aleja, so you can visit them and I'm sure you' ll find what to bring home for your friends or family:) There are also many fashionable shops, cafes, restaurants, bookshops, etc. Big supermarkets are outside laisves Aleja. They are called Maxima, Hyper Maxima and Molas. You can find the same shops there as in Laisves Aleja. So it is more convenient because almost all shops are under one roof:)
Hope you'll have a good time doing shopping in Kaunas:)
What to pay: You can pay using your credit card or cash. No cheques are accepted.

In Valanciaus street where almost all Kaunas art galleries are located, it's impossible to miss "Kauno lango galerija (Kaunas window gallery)".
What to buy: In this gallery we were lucky to find famous Kaunas graphics artist Mr.Rudzinskas works and of course - we bought bought bought!....:)
Other than paintings the gallery can offer consultation on interior design, jewlery made by request and many other services.
What to pay: The price is about average, all art works are MUCH cheaper than in the EU

Visiting Lithuania and not bringing any souvenirs from this famous amber jewelry, linen clothes, earthernware and wooden goods country?? Impossible!
Every tourist look for something representing the country or the city he or she is visiting.
In Kaunas old town you can find at least 5 souvenir and local crafts shops selling various goods and designed to meet the city visitors needs.
What to buy: Buy amber jewelry - it's cheaper than in Copenhagen or other Baltic sea countries. Buy linen cloths - Lithuanian industry produces and export it to Western Europe where it's sold at higher price than here. Buy various wooden or made of clay things.

Laisves aleja is the main shopping street. You will easily notice that there are lots of shoe shops and medicine stores - don't know why, but these kind of shops prefer this street :)
In summer you can find many open-air restaurants and cafes. That's the best way to sit and relax watching passing people and enjoying your meal.
