Fondest memory: Picture: I guess Klaipeda looked like this some centuries ago :)
Make a quick visit to what's left of the old town (see below), try one of the local restaurants - there are several good ones - and sample some fish. Then head outside the city to visit the coast, which is the biggest attraction.
Fondest memory: Sad to say - my fondest memory is of leaving Klaipeda via ferry to the beaches at Nida!
Favorite thing: Besides being quite an interesting city itself, influenced by german architecture, it's also a great starting point for traveling the city is situated by the Baltic sea and Curonian Lagoon (Kurshiu Nerija) with its' georgeous views, lithuanian 'dessert' - huge sand dunes streaching along the coast, nature and the Baltic Sea coastal resorts and towns.
Favorite thing: Klaidepa is an old city, it turns 750 next year. Congrads. I hope city looks very nice espessially next summer :)
Favorite thing: Buy some amber jewelry, it's cheap!! This lady was selling these necklaces for $3 to $5 USD. Since she let me take her picture, I bought a few necklaces. They made great gifts!
