Palanga is so called summer capital of Lithuania. Big number of Lithuanian families is ready to visit Palanga every summer.
First official mentioning of Palanga goes back from middle of 13th century in German Order writings. For long time it was just a small port, but from first half of 19th century land comes to landowners Tiskeviciai hands, they start to develop place as a resort.
The main feature of Palanga is, of course, sea, pine trees, old wooden houses, Basanaviciaus street, full of entertainments, pier.
Palanga is about 12 kilometres from Kretinga.

First settlement in Sventoji is known as far as 5000 years back. As a port it was already used in 12th century. Nowadays is a nice seaside town, more silent and cheaper than Palanga.
Here you could see modern church, "monkey" bridge. It is a place mostly known not for sightseeing, but just relaxing near the sea.
Sventoji is about 26 kilometres from Kretinga.
