Panemunes plentas (Near-Nemunas road)
This scenic road crossing the southern part of Apskritis and connecting it to Kaunas and Klaipeda is known for beutiful sights and interesting places around it. In Taurages Apskritis, the road for the most of way goes beside Nemunas, and that suggested it's name. At the other side of Nemunas at this place is Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia, therefore the river is not just a geographical, but also a political boundary. Nemunas is the major river of Lithuania and there fore frequently labeled as "The father of Lithuanian rivers". Most of Lithuania is in Nemunas's basin.Beside the river at Lithuanian side, alongside the road you'll encounter a few medieval castles, as well as tranquil small towns and beutiful natural view.
