Getting around the Baltics is best (and only) done by bus. The tickets are cheap and the buses go virtually anywhere. As far as I know, there isn't any train service between the Baltic capitals. If you're into bicycling, you might want to consider biking through the Baltics. A lot of Germans do it.

It was a bit of the problem as the flights we found were expensive... But it's worth to go there! Usualy from Malta we go to London Heatrow and from London we fly with Lithuanian Airlines. Otherwise, we were thinking to fly to Germany and to take a bus or train trough Poland. But I think is best to fly. It was very very comfortable as you go around by bus, train,taxi... We think that it is not expensive at all to go by bus or train. We were 6(including kids) and for the bus ticket to Palanga from Kaunas we paid only 50$, what I think is very cheap knowing that you have to travel over 200km. To go by train its even cheaper! Car hire was a bit of problem as we found more expensive than in other countries as cars' conditon are not the best if you get a better rate. Or you get a good car and pay a bit more. We had old Hyunday and we paid about 20$ a day. A car wasn't working properly. We...
