There is a tourist office in Utena right next to the museum. Unfortunately it was closed when we were there although it seems to be very helpful on information about the whole region.
We were taken to this new church by our friends. They wanted to have their pictures taken there. Opposite from the church there is also a chapel.
The first church of 1802, a wooden one in the shape of a cross with two chapels, burnt down in the big fire in 1879 when most of the town actually burnt down.
Today's church was built from 896'670 bricks in 1882/3. It's in gothic style. The belfry is of a different style and somewhat older.
There is a big supermarket in Utena. There you will not only find food and drink but other items as well like clothing etc.
