Little known fact - The geographical centre of Europe is 15-20 km north of Vilnius.
So, no, it's not Germany/Switzerland/Poland as one might have thought.
We had hoped to get there, but apparently it's rather awkward to accomplish this by public transport.
EUROPE PARK. Really nice place to have a walk, to have a rest - and nice lithuanian forest. A lot of sculptures and interesting things - i liked that horse which is crying. When you'll be there in the centre of the park, on the meadow you will see metal horse - try to turn his wheel - and it will cry!!!
This sculpture - a woman :)) Really two women :))
More info about how to reach this park, open hours:
Where do you think the geographic centre of Europe is? Believe it or not, right there near Vilnius! Yes, Europe is a bigger continent than you might have thought. Near the centre there is a wonderful park called Parkas Europas which exhibits works of some best and most remowned contemporary sculptors from all over the globe (Dennis Oppenheimer comes to mind - yes, he's there too!). Find the little fella hidden among the trees. The smile on his 'face' will definitely make you laugh!
