How to get there: Car, bus. I would suggest using minivans (expresses) from the bus station, going from Vilnius to Kaunas or from Kaunas to Vilnius, they are comfortable, fast and cheap ( about 2.5 $), sometimes even showing video ;)
Don’t go on busses with many signs (names of the cities) if it’s not “Vilnius-Kaunas” or “Kaunas – Vilnius” but Kaunas- blah – blah –blah – Vilnius , you might end up after 5 hours in some place called “blah” J look for direct ones, best of all expresses (ekspresas).
in Vilnius you can buy now (where they sell press) a pass for going with busses or trolleybuses all day, or few days. Or to buy single tickets for each
