    Oktoberfest
    by globetrott

Oktoberfest will always start in SEPTEMBER !

It will always end the 1st sunday in October, and will start 2 weeks before on saturday at 12.00 noon.
As October 3rd is the German national holiday, this rule is a bit different, and the fest might be extended, when Oct. 3rd is a monday or tuesday .
sounds complicated, but it is not !!

The schedule for the next years is :
    2005: Sept.17th - Oct.2nd
    2006: Sept.16th - Okt 1st
    2007: Sept.22nd - Okt 7th
    2008: Sept.20th - Okt.5th
    2009: Sept.19th - Okt.4th
    2010: Sept.18th - Okt.3rd
    2011: Sept.17th - Okt.2nd

    Be prepared :
1)Book your hotel by all means, at least when you plan to come to Munich on Friday-Sunday +oct. 2+3.

2)Leave your car at home, take the subway - police is everywhere watching you, and the subway and S-bahn connections are great !

La Vente Aux Enchere is also a very French place and style of living for many French people, there is only one Vente Aux Enchere in Beaune, and it was the first time for me to visit and see how the progress of the selling is!
but every French city has one!

Mona Lisa protected as if it is something from the other space, but I do understand why, you will never find a time during the day with no bunch of visitors around this picture, after I verify if she has the mestirious look, and it is true, you'll have the impression she is looking at you from all the different corners!

Question... What is the second most famous thing in the Louvre after the Mona Lisa?
Answer: it is the beautiful sculpture of Venus,
for sure this is the right answer, and I was so impressive to stand beside this gorgeous piece of art and take a photo with, and I felt as I was took back on the years to Old Greece!

The glorious man with his crazy dream, a man a leader a lover, but still a big criminal, Napoleon in spite of all was the direct reason for the death of 1 million French soldiers and for nothing!
Not mentioning the victims from countries he tried to capture, in a funny way this is the biggest dictator in France and French time, but many French people are real fans of him!

There is in the first floor a whole section for the Egyption treasures, now here I agree it was stolen from its home land, but again I am positive, I see it in the good side of the story, it is better to be well kept and good visited in the Louvre, than in other museums!

In a lot of cities of Europe, there's a big clock, who becomes a symbol, and a touristic atraction. Althoug the queen of the clocks is without doubt Switzerland, I have chosen this in Viena. Every hour, a lot of tourist wait to see the mouvement of the pieces and hear the music.
