On a Sundau in October is the yearly Vianden Nut Festival. It's a crowded happening, all inhabitants and tourists are in the streets. Eating, drinking, music, it's all there. At this day Vianden is one big market-place where you can get many food and drinks made with nuts, but of course, also meat, sausages and beer. A day for eating, drinking and having fun. Tasting local food and drinks. And when it starts raining? You go into a pub and drink a beer untill it's over.........
At 18.00 h the festival is over and the pubs and restaurants are closing at 19.00 h, a perfect way to keep people with too much alcohol out of the door !!
An impression of the Nut Festival, 02-10-2005. Most of the day the sun was shining, there was only one little shower!
