The restaurant Belle Vue, the restaurant of hotel Belvedere, is absolutely a must try. They serve all kind of gastronic dishes. You can let the chef choose for you up to a 7 course menu. In this 7 course menu we got to small greetings from the kitchen (appetizers) to make it 9 dishes. It took us all evening to eat it all.
A 7 course dinner costed 65 Euro per person in march 2005. Not including drinks.

We had a great luck in finding this place. It is open late unlike most other restaurants in this country. It is very unassuming, but the quality of service and food is magnificent. Food is presented beautifully also.
Favorite Dish: pork medallions with tomato and melted mozzarella

The "Auberge Cafe Restaurant Du-Pont" is located in a very pictoresque and old beautiful village. It is located nicely so, that you can watch the river flow and see the colourful houses and people driving or passing by slowly.
I cannot tell the overall prices, but at least what we took was very reasonably priced: two big coffees and two big slices of wonderful, fresh, newly-baked apple pie - alltogether cost 7,80 euros!
Please see Vianden also otherwise - there is a massive old castle and the houses by the main street are very nice.
Favorite Dish: Visited only once, so let's say the newly-baked apple pie which was not dry at all; very juicy.
Friendly staff; totally different from the big city life's stress.

An excellent little restaurant right below the castle in a nice part of the old town. A short walk from the castle too. The atmosphere inside is wonderful and everything is French! I was very proud that I could communicate and order food in French! Anyways, a really great eat.
Favorite Dish: Crêpes aux framboises :D

The food was very good in this italian restaurant run by an italian. The fact that we saw many locals having dinner here must mean something too.
Get an idea of the menu at their website.

We came here by car exploring some areas in pretty Luxembourg. The weather was perfect for this trip. Since it was the Easter weekend, Vianden was flooded with day trippers.

A Town, A Castle, A River -- Essentially Europe!

In a small area, Vianden unites many of those qualities people come to Europe for. It is a small, extremely picturesque town in the valley of the river Our near the German border.
