The place d'Armes in Luxembourg City

by Paul2001

The place d'Armes is the central square of Luxembourg City. It is fill to the point of saturation with cafes and restaurants. As many of the restaurants here are quite good and I highly recommend that you come here more than once. Overall I think that the place d'Armes is possibly one of the best places in all of Europe to people watch.

Fine small country

by tini58de

Luxembourg has a little bit of everything: it has fascinating cities, it has a lovely nature - there is so much you can enjoy and it does not take so long, because the distances are very short! Convincing my husband, that it really was a good choice to vacation here!

Luxembourg along the Moselle, castles and wine

by Pavlik_NL

Grevenmacher, wine, wine and some champagne. On the westbank of the Moselle-river are the wineyards of Luxembourg. And Grevenmacher is one of the centres of making this tasty fluid. As a winelover I enjoy this place every time and visit time by time another winehouse/yard. Moselwine is fruity, light and tastes sweeter then many French wines. On the other side of the river is Germany (also famous for it's Moselwines). Close to the famous Champagne-region in France, the Luxembourgian champagne is also perfect for celebrations and special events. Grevenmacher has - among others - the wineyards of Bernard Massard, that produces a lovely champagne. They also have excursions in which they explane the millenia old wine-making-traditions. Drinking a bottle of wine on a pleasant evening on the camping with some new friends.

Wealth, History and Shopping

by karma_kola

Luxembourg City is an excellent place to shop, Everything from Cigarettes to alcohol to groceries to clothes is much cheaper than the rest of Europe. Definetly cheaper than Holland! Ekhlaque and I had come here first right after our wedding - the week after we reached Europe. So it was like a honeymoon - as we couldn't go on one before....But we didnot have a camera then:( We stayed in a cheap hotel near the Gare and had a blast! Walked around the city and took everything in!!

Steep winding streets and castles

by KennetRose

Just when I wished I'd gone somewhere else, I took a walk around the Grund and fell in love with the place. The Grund is an old artisans quarter down in a river valley. From there streets climb steeply up the cliff face and around the old fortifications to the Old Town.
