Grund

by tini58de

The Grund, or lower town of Luxembourg City, is a picturesque, cobblestoned quarter that apparently is the place where Luxembourg's nightlife takes place....To me it is only the place, where I could get into the very modern escalator to reach the upper City of Luxembourg. Still I think, that this part of Luxemburg is very much worth having a look at!

Esch-sur-Alzette

by tini58de

Esch-sur-Alzette is the second largest town of Luxembourg. It is 17 km from the capital and is actually an industrial city. Surprisingly enough it has a couple of cultural attractions: the National Museum of the Resistance, metallurgical factories, Berwart tower, monuments, and the most beautiful architecture from the 1920's and 1930's - and a fabulous guide from the tourist information! We really enjoyed it a lot!

Opening times Beaufort Castle

by sim1

You can visit the castle from April until the end of October, from 9 until 6 o'clock. For more information on the castle and the village of Beaufort, you can take a look at this website : Beaufort. You have to be able to read German though, because that is the only language this website is in :-)

Beaufort Castle

The ruins of Beaufort Castle (12th century) are so beautiful. I made these pictures in August. I only have pictures from the outside, because I didn't go in the castle this time. I think I have done so many years ago; although I have to admit that I can't remember what it looks like :-)

St.Alphonse inside

by dr.firas

it is not gothic, but it is lovely, and really larg, and people were more than inside Joannes Origer Church-Cathedral, but I like the Joannes Origer Church-Cathedral more, as I can't be biased when the Cathedral is gothic!
