A backpack, rucksack or a light travelling bag to carry on you back or on your shoulder when touring the city of Luxembourg. It will become very handy when you make some small purchases such as postcards, small souvenirs, mineral water etc. Luxembourg can be quite hot during the summer months, therefore light clothing is recommended such as t-shirts, shorts etc. Sport shoes or walking shoes are preferred if you walk a lot on your vacation. Spring and autumn can be quite wet in Luxembourg, thus raincoats and umbrellas are necessary especially if you visit Luxembourg in the months of March and April. Don't forget to bring along your medicines if you are on medication. Painkillers such as aspirin and multi-vitamins tablets especially Vitamin C are recommended. Other medical supplies may include plasters for minor cuts, a pair of scissors and nail-creepers. Remember not to place any sharp...

POSTCARD LABELS !

What is one of the least fun things to do on a big travel adventure?? Writing out postcards! You have to carry an address book, write out the messages to valued friends & loved ones, then write all the addresses as well! NO MORE! I am guessing you have a printer. Get some labels and print your addresses! Peel, stick – send! It saves a lot of time. Pictures are labels for Mr. SL Liew whose address is on another tip. Please send me a postcard. My address is:DAOThe Post Office62-66 Lake Lock RdStanley, WakefieldWest YorkshireWF3 4HSEnglandTHANKS!

In case you want to bring any electrical appliances with you, here is the system Luxembourg uses : 220 volts and 50 Hz. It is a round pin attachment plug (see picture)An adapter will allow you to plug an appliance designed for one type of outlet into another type of outlet. Despite the fact that more than a dozen different types of plugs are in use, a typical travel adapter kit usually contains about five adapters which are capable of dealing with most of the outlets shown here. Adapters often manage this versatility by bypassing the ground/earth wire. Beware : an adapter by itself will not change the electrical voltage. You must be sure that your appliance can handle different voltages (either automatically or through a voltage switch). If it can't, you will need a voltage converter.

A backpack will come in very handy. Do not take too much with you, Luxembourg is a civilised country ;-), there are laundrettes. And for a quick freshening: the river Ernst Noire or Ernst Blanche or the Sûre (without soap off course ;-) Walking shoes! A rain cape (light weight).Clothes that 'breath' for walking and climbing is breathtaking (literally sometimes). But then again, what do I know of real mountains??? Just some bandages in case you get blisters.A tube of Calendula. Please make sure that you take some photo-sensitive films with you, at least 400 asa.In the woods and between the rocks daylight is not enough. Just take that with u, that u think is necess. One little disappointment maybe, but in Luxembourg you'll find no real beaches, I fear ;-) As it was written in the folder we got, what we should take with us. We needed to take the typical Dutch things, like a cheese...

We were in Luxembourg for one day in December, and it was cold and rainy. I definitely recommend warm, layered clothing, a backpack, and an umbrella. If you get warm from walking around the city, use the backpack to hold the layers of clothing you remove. A backpack is also handy to carry around the wonderful bottles of wine to be found there.
