Coyote Cafe Luxembourg: Not that attracting as it sounds like

by MD2nd

This restaurant is located inside the building of Utopia cinema, and right beside Subway restaurant. Coyote restaurant has no restrooms but have their customs going to the public ones inside the building. Coyote restaurant is big, crowdy, loudy, little light, and plays mostly mainstream music from back of the 80's. I took Vegetable Taccos, and had a hard time to eat at least half of that stuff (never had such unpleasant, mushy tasting taccos). That was def. not Mexican style. Service is nice, ppl yet speak little English but French & German. It takes a loooooong while until they do the order or take the cash after. The photos I took don't show Coyote but at least its neighbouring Subway & building of cinema Utopia and its public restrooms (very clean).

BREEDEWEE: CLOSED:

by DAO

Breedewee is a restaurant listed in many guide books, websites and is highly recommended. It is also now out of business and shut forever. Sorry. It’s really a shame as well. It had a beautiful view from its terrace of the lower half of the historical part of the city. Breedewee had a reputation for serving delicious food at good prices while still maintaining large portions. In Luxembourg that is a crime of course. You will now have to settle for less food and less money after your meal.

LA MEDINA: GASTRONOMIC SUPERHEROES

by DAO

I love these folks, I really do. They could not have made me feel more welcome, valued and looked after me. That was just the service. The food? Magnifique! La Medina is 1 of 5 different themed restaurants created by 2 geniuses named Dominica Colaianni and Olivier Felmann. Many people come by to laugh at some of the strange English translations on their outside menu board, but don’t stay to savour the wonderfully prepared food which makes this one of the best restaurants in Europe. So why Superheroes? I arrived at the restaurant quite late and in very casual clothes and boots. The restaurant next door refused to serve me. The waiter here at La Medina never blinked and greeted me like an old friend. Although cold outside, they agreed to seat me outside and my table was made up like I was royalty in a flash (pictured). My food was brought to me and was not only artful; it tasted out of...

Oberweis: Pleasant Lunch Spot

by DueSer

This is a great place for a light lunch or tea. At street level, it's a pastry shop. Upstairs it's a tea room but they serve more than tea. They had sandwiches, pasta dishes, and many other things to choose from all with a French flair. The decor is very nice but it certainly isn't fancy. After being on my feet all morning seeing the sights, this was the perfect place to come and rest and relax and recharge. Then I stopped again later in the day and had tea and a strawberry tart. It was great. They do offer other items on the menu, more of a dinner thing - pretty expensive so the price range listed below was what I paid for lunch. I had a fantastic Croque Monsieur here. French bread and cheese, Ardenne ham...it was delicious.

Le Rabelais: Le Rabelais

by myriam_c

Pretty little restaurant in the centre of Luxembourg. Such a pity that the tables are almost one next to another. It was packed when we were there on a Sunday in December at lunchtime. We just ate a little lunch, although we saw the most exquisite dishes pass by while sitting there (prices for lunch as from 22 euro.We had a salade au saumon fumé et sa garniture which was excellent, though not cheap (18 euro). For dessert we ordered tarte aux pommes tiède à la sauce vanille, crème glacée vanille et chantilly (7 euro). Another very good choice!

L’ORANCHELLO: THE RUDDEST RESTAURANT IN EUROPE

by DAO

In my educated and informed opinion, this has to be this restaurant has the ruddest staff in Europe. They were absolutely rude, angry and aggressive with me on more than one occasion. I didn’t even eat here and I highly recommend you not eat here either. I tried to gat a table on their empty terrace one night and they looked at me like I was a piece of rubbish. After giving me a dirty look (2 of them together) they told me after a long apuse that all the tables were reserved. I went next door to the absolutely wonderful LA MEDINA and was greeted like royalty. Over the next hour and a half I noticed no one sat at the ‘reserved’ tables. Just look at the first picture. Do you see anyone sitting at any tables? Lying bastards. The next day I went inside the building that houses this restaurant to use the toilets. A waiter CHASED me and shouted at me all the way in. I had to literally shut...

De Peffer Kär: De Peffer Kär - Nice restaurant

by 1W1V

Ate there in Feb. 2008, the food was nice. We choose from the menu, not the set lunch so it was quite expensive. Nevermind, I was invited !!!I had some foie gras and then fish. Apple tart to close the lunch. Champagne for aperitive. We were 4 and I think all included the host paid about 350 euros including one bottle of wine The food was decent but nothing to die for at that price. My dessert was really nice but too big for dessert.

Hotel and Pizzeria Bella Napoli: An Italian Taste in Luxembourg

by voyageur2

Luxembourg is a small city and you usualy have difficulties to find a restaurant with reasonable prices and proper location. Especialy there are only a few restaurants around Gare. If you do not like ordinary foods of snack, i recommend you Pizzeria Bella Napoli. They offer delicious pizzas. Its friendly atmosphere and proximity to Gare make it a lovely restaurant for dining. pizza, pizza, pizza.

TABLE DU PAIN LUXEMBOURG/CENTRE VILLE: TABLE DU PAIN: chaudement à décommander!!!!

by connaisseur25

Dommage...!

Altrimenti: A haven of Peace

by leiju

It took more than two years for Diego Lo Piccolo’s idea to fully blossom and turn into the vibrant library - cafeteria it is today. Altrimenti – which means ‘in a different way’ in Italian – opened its doors in the heart of Luxembourg City in June 2006, and Diego is full of bright ideas for the future. The front space is dedicated to Italian literature and books translated into the language, leaving a first time visitor thinking they have just entered a simple library. Yet as one steps deeper, a small lounge-like area opens with pictures on the walls – the area Diego hopes to be able to further develop into a space of culture, calm and easy living. On 29 October an exhibition by painter Biagio Longo will open here, followed by a number of others centered on Italy, Italian painters and views of the country. The last part of the space, transformed from an inner court, is surprisingly light...
