The valley is located below the Adolphe & Passerelle bridges. It divides the Upper Town from the Plateau Bourbon.Paths & steps lead down to the valley floor. Once there pleasant walks can be taken along the paths near the river.

Clervaux

by Segolily

This was a great little town. We ended up spending quite alot of time here despite there being no reason for us to. We loved the walking town center with the fountain in the square (which was really more a triangle). We ate at a sidewalk cafe, something unique which escapes me at the moment. We shopped in the stores which were uncrowded and nice. The castle was wonderful. Just outside town was an old and apparently still operating monastary. When we got lost getting out of town we visited more of Luxembourg than we planned, but enjoyed the deep valleys and clean towns. We were able to use our french, but English was also common.

Hamm US military cemetery

by Segolily

This is a wonderfully quiet spot. A sanctuary from the crowds. It is less visited than the one near Omaha beach in Normandy. The monuments describe the troop movements across Europe in the push to win the war. It might get even fewer visitors except for the fact that George Patton is buried here. It was a must for us for that reason. There were other countries cemeteries nearby as well.

Touring Luxembrourg: Remich

by hydronetta

Remich is a small town with a population a bit over 3000 inhabitants situated amidst vineyards at the banks of river Mosel and it’s a border town with Germany (that’s why you see a lot of petrol stations and line of German cars filling up their tank)Small to navigate around it has retains some charm and we would have enjoyed a leisure promenade at the tree-lined banks of the river, if Mosel had not flooded due to heavy rain. The surrounding area is dominated by gentle loafs full of vineyards (therefore a lot of wineries) making Remich the capital of this wine producing area. for more information on Remich, please click here
