i would advise familys with young children to be aware of maltese drivers... to put it straight... 'some' are mental! it dont bother me, but it would for parents with young kids dont let them go across the road on there own and keep an eye on them :)

There is this restaurant at the tip of Bugibba called Fra Ben. Behind the resturant there is a rocky beach and open sea. The sea there is not so safe as there are currents and if you go scuba diving be careful. Don't go into the underwater caves as they are very muddy and dangerous. Once two divers had died in those caves and sometimes people have difficulty swimming there so take care !

The only bad thing around are Time Sharing Sharks. Don't be surprised when you walk along the promenade and a car will stop with the driver asking: Do you speak German? (or something simular). Before you know you are entitled to a bottle of wine, but before you can pick up your price, you are lured to a hotel and have to join the Time Sharing Selling lecture.
Bugibba's Baysquare is flooded with these guys too. At one point 5 of them were dropped off.
