    St Mary's Tower

    by Diana75 Written Sep 6, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

St Mary's Tower, built by the Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt in the 17C, can be also seen from the ferry crossing from Malta to Gozo.

The tower is located on the south-east side of the island, looking towards the ferry port at Cirkewwa.

A good destination for tourists walking around Comino, the tower became more famous when in 2002 it was used to represent the prison Chateau d'If in the movie "The Count of Monte Cristo" starring Jim Caviezel.

    San Niklaw Bay

    by Diana75 Written Sep 6, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Located near the Blue Lagoon, San Niklaw Bay is the access point for Comino Hotels ferry and the single hotel located here offers also a small sandy beach for its clients.

This is also a good starting point for a pleasant walk around the edge of the island's cliffs.

    Santa Marija Bay

    by Diana75 Written Sep 6, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Santa Marija Bay is considered the second best place for picnics and swimming on Comino Island, after the Blue Lagoon.

The Bay offers a good public beach and perfect waters for snorkeling and scuba diving. Comino Bungalows are also located here.

    Santa Marija Cave

    by Diana75 Written Sep 6, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

After an agitated boat ride to Comino, Santa Marija Cave seemed to us a real corner of heaven.

And, if you consider the beauty of the serene cave's cyan waters and dramatic cliffs, it really is.

Perfect spot for snorkeling and scuba diving, Santa Marija Cave can be also reached through a tunnel coming from St Marija Bay

    Comino Island cliffs

    by Diana75 Written Sep 6, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Probably the best way to see Comino's cliffs is by taking a boat trip around the island.

The most impressive and tall ones are located on the eastern part of the island and, as we came by boat from St Paul's Bay, we had the chance to pass close to these cliffs.

    Walk around

    by LotusV8 Written Jun 21, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The sound from thousands of bees fills the air, the landscape is something like a half desert, its filled with caraway seed, or cumin, wich has given Comino its name. It is quite hot and there is not much shade to find, no trees around, so take my advice and bring some water with you.
A small path leads to several directions, and you have discovered the whole Island in 20 minutes.

    Snorkeling

    by LotusV8 Written Jun 21, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Water is crystalcleer and you will feel weightless in the water, its pretty cool to watch another person deep in the water, a very funny feeling, there is not much corals around and pretty much jellyfish so a swimsuit is recommended, but its alright even without one, a bit itchy ofcourse.

Actually this photo was taken from Mgarr in Gozo not from Comino even though it is the view of Comino and Kemmunetto. You can see the light blue colour of the sea of some parts of the sea that surround Comino !
