Fort St Angelo by tophat30 For the best views of the Grand Harbour and the surrounding Moslems and Knights Fortifactions, you must go to the Upper Barracca. It's very easy to find. Just as you pass the square at City Gate, turn on your right , and keep walking straight. As you pass 'Auberge de CASTILLE" , cross the road .... et voila. Good idea if you go there after six or seven. Gardens and balcony will be less crowded. Leave a Comment

The Citadel in Victoria. by Maurizioago ...I only had a taste of it. I visited the Citadel in Victoria. This is the main town of this island. I stayed into this fortress at least two hours. Inside the Citadel there is the Cathedral (1697-1711), three interesting museums; some shops and cafes. I wanted to see some other nice places on this island, but unfortunately buses in Gozo are not as frequent as in Malta. Well, after having visited the Citadel I caught a bus to Nadur. This is an ordinary village with no restaurants and some bad looking bars. From there I walked to the harbour. When I arrived there I ate an hamburger; had a drink and I came back to Malta early in the afternoon. If you want to go to Gozo; plan your trip carefully and ask for the timetables at the main bus station in Victoria. Visit the Citadel in the afternoon. Leave a Comment

Marsaxlokk is a nice fishing village located in the south-eastern side of Malta. Its name means "south-east harbour". Marsa = harbour; xlokk = south -east. This is the right place to have a good lunch. There is a big choice of restaurants there. In Marsaxlokk you can also see a lot of luzzus. These are traditional bright colored fishing boats. by Maurizioago In Wied iz Zurrieq; south of the town of Zurrieq (9 km. south of Valletta) you can do a boat trip to this grotto and to some others. The trip lasts about twenty minutes. Unfortunately I hadn't the opportunity to take some good pics of the blue sea I saw. My camera didn't work properly. Leave a Comment

by Maurizioago This beautiful wood, with various kinds of trees and shrubs was a hunting ground of the Order of St, John. The Buskett is overlooked by the Verdala Castle. This mansion was built by the Grand Master de Verdalle as his summer house. This wood is located about two km. from Rabat. Street at Sliema by hopang Remember to bring along all your essential items if you have to travel to Malta on a Sunday or a public holiday. Almost all shops, department stores and shopping malls close on Sundays and public holidays. We forgot to bring along our toothbrushes and toothpastes to Malta. As a consequence we had to search for a sundry shop along the Promenade from Sliema to St. Julian's after approximately three kilometer walk! Leave a Comment

by Maurizioago These beautiful gardens were laid out by Grand Master Antoine de Paule between 1623 and1636 as grounds to his summer palace. Here you can stroll among exotic plants, fruit trees and statues. There are also some aviaries. Into these gardens there is the residence of the President of Malta. San Anton Gardens are located in Balzan. Leave a Comment
