The local gastronomy has mediterannean flavours and is influenced by the Italian style (Sicilia is close). Honestly Xlendi is not a recommended area to be on diet ;-)
With the numerous and good locals restaurants along the Xlendi strand, the temptation is high to try many local specialities as bragioli (minced beed roulade), fenek (rabbit), lampuki (kind of local bream)...

There was also pizza, lasagne etc, but they seemed like they would have been on the window far too long. Pastizzi looked good, and since we hadn´t tasted them yet, we took three per person, because it was 0,25e per each, and we hadn´t eat anything for last 10 hours, and the bus back to harbour was leaving soon.
In such hunger they tasted very good. But actually it was only puff pastry with cream cheese inside. I understood that there´s also some with peas.
Those were good fast food, but quite greasy. We ate coupple later at main island also. It left me thinking, how it would taste with some spices in it. Maybe herbs and garlic? Locals might think I´m crazy thinking that :)
Favorite Dish: pastizzi

We chose to have lunch on our day trip to Gozo here as we could sit on the outdoor terrace right by the sea. Inside the Ta'Nona is a small but cozy bar and the toilet was very clean at lunch time. Both bar and toilet have funny decorations.
Service was very attentive and friendly.
Favorite Dish: I ordered a Pizza Hawaii and was very pleased with the crispy dough. They also serve some Chinese dishes. I actually saw a Chinese man in the kitchen.

While on an organised tour of Gozo we called at this restaurant for our Lunch, it was a typical tourist trip type place with a shop selling Local Products, although it looked nice the food was canteen like and not that good at all. Not a place that you should choose to go if you had a choice and to be honest it seemed out of the way so it is probably only really frequented by tour groups.

The prawns were so fresh and the mixture of flavours was amazing.

This in it's self is not a recommendation for any one restaurant but an area with some fine restaurants in Xlendi Bay in Gozo
Favorite Dish: For a perfect way to end of sight seeing ,spend a magical evening by the sea and let your taste buds explore the fine Mediterranean cuisine ( the bay view is free)
A bus ride of less 30min.from Victoria will get you to the bay ,but check the time of the last evening bus (8.pm) thereis always taxi at hand It's hard to recommend any one restaurant as there are a few to choose from the ones we used did not disappoint, two hotels are located on the bay and many hoilday flats ,Xlendi Bay would not be bad place to stay for a few days as we did back in 2003

This is a fantastic restaurant - the very best we visited in our two weeks in Malta and Gozo! The menu is small but everything on it is cooked to perfection. Our family of four ate there for each of the five nights we spent in Gozo and it appealed to all of us. We ate lasagne; ravioli (all pasta home made); schnizel; Belgian stew; chilli con carne; pork stuffed with Maltese sausage; great crepes; chocolate mousse. Everything was a perfect blend of tastes and textures, the care which goes into the cooking is evident in every bite. We really can't recommend this highly enough!
The location is great too - just back from the water's edge with a beautiful view of the cliffs.
The prices are very reasonable, the wine list good - and there is a great selection of Belgian beer.
Frank, the chef/owner, comes to chat to the diners when he has finished flying around the kitchen - the atmosphere is truly lovely.

A nice balanced menu, check out the day's specialities especially the big viarity of fresh fish. Good adaquate shading and comfortable seating. Last but not least seating a metre away from the sea and standing only about a foot above sea level.
Favorite Dish: A big beefy rib-eye steak. Cooked to perfection. with or without sauce preferably i like it with some pepper sauce on the side. :-)

This elegant restaurant, located about 10km north of Victoria, is considered the best in the country. Situated in a 600-year old farmhouse surrounded by the beautiful Gozitan countryside, the impressive menu leans on French, Italian and Maltese cuisine.

This casual, elegant restaurant serves Mediterranean and international cuisine. Both the décor and the menu change with the season. Private seating provides seclusion for a very intimate dining experience.
